Mark Esler

Researcher

My main role in the Cohen Lab is to create computing resources that assist researchers. This role is comprised of network and electronic engineering and programming. I administrate the Cohen-Hegeman Intranet which consists of Cisco, BSD, Linux, and Windows systems. This network is designed to assist researchers in their mass spectrometry data workflow while keeping data and scientific equipment secure. Through a partnership with the Griffin Lab I, along with my colleague Art Eschenlauer, are creating bioinformatic tools and workflows for metabolomics research on the Galaxy platform. More information about these projects can be found on github.umn.edu/eslerm and github.com/eslerm.
